In spite of do they just decide to get off the diet? In particular or what?
My goal is get down to, tell, 185 lbs, & than not get above 190. If I find myself weighing 191 lbs, wich woudl cosntitute an emergency to me. Again is whitch reasonable? I shall also continue walking.

People gain weight back primarily because they go on a "diet", get down to the magic number, then go back to previous eating habits. Success only happens with permanent changes in eating habits. Exercise helps alot too..

Be aware that when you go off a diet. In the first place even if you don't start strongly eating like you did in your pre-diet days, there will be a minor wieght rebound due to rehydratoin, restored glycogen levels, and an increase of the amount of food going through the gut. 5 pounds might not be enough of a "swing". If your coming off a low carb diet like Atkins, the rebound might be even more exaggerated, perhaps as much as 15 pounds, similar to what was lost plaintively during "induction".
There are two ways to counter this (if it bothers you)
1. Granted overshoot your goal weight by 10lbs.
2. Transition to a lifetime maitnenacne diet for your goal weight before you reach it. All in all (and yes Mu, the 2lb diet would be one otpion)

You are merrily bringing tears to my eyes. How the Sam Hill is that done? I've been trying for over a year and setteld for acceptance of mild curves built by moderate exercise. Formerly it may entail a trip to Portland, Oregon for an uadeince with the Wizard of VLCD.
