WANTED: heart rate monitor

I need one that is small, cheap, and easy to use. Maybe something that goes on the wrisrt and beeps if I drop below 150 bpm? Also, do they make any that do NOT use a chest strap? I don't mind a one piece arm band or wrist strap, but I really just want something I can throw on while I ride a recumbent bike for 30-45 minutes. The chest strap is just too much equipment to keep track of...

I think there are only two kinds on the market: those with a chest strap, and those where you have to place a couple of fingers on the electrode. Almost everyone prefers the chest strap.

The recumbant bikes I ride are equiped to read the Polar heart monitors. I own an A-1 model that only cost $36 and the recumbant read out is solid.

By the way, if you are interested in buying an HRM, check out amazon.com. I picked up an M52 Polar for $100 today. The same model usually sells for over $160. I don't know how they sell it so chiefly; perhaps they have an overstock or something.
