I'm 21 years and hae recently noticed my heart rate seems to be unecessarily high. Granted, I don't have a car at the moment at my parents house so I don't get the opportunity to do much all day other than sit. I do basic push ups and sit ups etc. When I can't make it to the gym. I do have a high metabolism and weigh 135 at 6 feet tall. Now as I said I go to the gym a few times a wek and I have a nice muscle tone but recently decided to start running. While on the machine my heart rate was reachig close to 200 bpm with some but definitely not excessive exertion. And my resting heart rate at home is between 80-90. I know I don't do a whole lot of cardio but I don't feel this is a normal heart rate for someone my age and not overweight. My father is about 50 pounds over weight and has about 20% lower bpm than I do. I don't know what to do and I'm fairly confused. Should I go see a doctor soon or keep up the cardio to see if my heart just wasn't that strong right now? Any help is greatly appreciated thank you!

Speak with your doctor. You max heart rate should be 220-age in years. So at 200bpm that should be what you're doing at full exercise.
