Will go there tonight... Any suggestions for natural good foods there that I should not overlook? I have not been there in ages...

Thanks!

I like their More & Less cereal -- hi protein, low carb, and tasty.
There are also some good frozen salmon entrees, salmon burgers, and various frozen vegetarian entrees. And I buy their mint meringues -- pure sugar, but not a lot of it -- just 18 calories per cookie.

Oh yeahh, I love their 70% 1.5 lb dark chocolate bar in the red wrapper. I tried others like Lindt's 75% and 85% Execellence line of bars but I find myself going back to TJ's, which is much cheaper too.
And I've heard the higher content cocoa means less sugar than regular milk chocolate bars, metabolizes faster and has antioxidants that are good for you as well. And it puts me in a happy mood too. I know
I've been eating A LOT of it lately and it hasn't had much impact on my weight.

Other things I like at TJ's is their yogurt garlic and chives dip, frozen cod sticks and selection of nuts and cheeses.

It's national, but there aren't stores everywhere. Here's their site, which provides a list of store locations: http://www.traderjoes.com/

I hear an awful lot about Trader Joes on ngs but I have never even seen one let alone been to one.

Are these things an East or West Coast phenomenon? I live in the midwest, have been to Texas, Louisiana, and Colorado recently, and haven't seen one there.

I am back, I bought almond butter and some mashed dried tomatoes with oil. Also big shrimps. Also olives, reeking of urine and quite foul tasting. I guess they are supposed to be this way, but I do not like that.

When I really think I need chocolate, I eat "unsweetened chocolate baking squares"... The last one was in March or so..

None in Maine either

I have to make pilgrimages twice a year as I drive through MA on my way to NY. Gives me time to dream.

This probably isn't appropriate but at Christmastime, they sell
Ghirardelli's chocolate in 10 pound bars for $20. I break it with a hammer and freeze it to use all year. <drool>

There has been so much talk about Trader Joe's that I finally visited the local one. I really liked it and was amazed at the prices. Normally specialty shops has high prices but theirs are very reasonable. I didn't pick up any thing that required refrigeration as I wasn't planning on returning home immediately. I did stock up on some of their cereal for my daughter, Arizona diet green tea and a few other items I can't find in my regular grocery. I'll definitely be making more trips as it's not too far from work.

I actually like the bitter taste of it. But, whenever I eat it, I gain
0.5 lbs per ounce eaten.

It's bitter chochlaty tasting, so you may like it or you may not.

There is very little carbs in it, 90% of calories come from fat.

I've never heard of "Trader Joe". Where is it located? Is it a national chain in the U.S., or just in one state? You all have my interest up now.

At their website (which I visited from a link earlier in this thread... www.traderjoe.com ?) they had a location finder. There's actually one near me in Marlton, NJ. Not too far of a drive
