Hi i am a 24 year old female who has suffered from recurrent syncope and as a result has had to stop nursing placements. i am being investigated by a cardiologist and have had a echocardiogram wich showed only slight regurgitation on heart valves but nothing significant. i had a normal ecg and have had a tilt table test in which i had a pre syncope episode due to low blood pressure and i have been sent a letter from the cardiologist to have another tilttable test before i see her agian to be reviewed. they had firt thought syncope was vasovegal and the doctor at the tilt test has said that she feel i have pots and that it may be related to a condition called elhers danlos which makes sense as i do fit the catogory for this condition. what i want to know is why does the cardiologist want another tilt test what will this assertain as i was under the impression from the other doctor that they now knew what was wrong with me . any help advice be great im really concerened as i found the tilt test really horrible and dont want to have to repeat it if i dont have to .

Amyanne, welcome to the forum I am glad you joined us. I assume they want a second tilt test to see if there was any change in the situation. Usually all tests are repeated for this reason.

Amyanne, if you are diagnosed with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia syndrome there are medicines that can treat this ailment. If the diet isn't working out, perhaps you should give it some time first and also ask your physician for medication to raise your bloodpressure. A pacemaker is a very last resort people turn to and in your case shouldn't even be thought of (yet, or not at all).
