While doing my regular morning exercise on the treadmill today I had something strange happen. I keep my heart rate between 95-105 bpm normally, after about 20 minutes I felt this vibration (like a shiver}
go through my body from my feet up to my head, this lasted maybe 2-3 seconds, immediately my heart rate almost instantly went up to 135bpm.
I then slowed down but could not get my heart rate below 100, so I stopped exercising and rested but my heart was still way to high. It stayed at around 90 while resting and shot up almost instantly to 120 when walking at a slow pace. My resting heart rate is about 60bpm.I did not have any chest pains, heavy breathing, nausea, shortness of breath, sweaty or clammy fealing. I called my GP and he advised me to go to Emergency, when I got there my resting heart rate was 98bpm. By the time they got around doing an ECG it was 58bpm and there were no abnormalities in the ECG (this was done 2 1/2 hrs after the initial incident) so I was released with no explanation. The rest of the day my heart rate was fine and I felt OK other than a bit of anxiety because of the "unknown". I am a male 48yrs, had double CABG done in
2000, I take aspirin, atenalol, and Lipitor daily. Have any of you experienced a similar situation or have any ideas what happened?
