I have a sudden pain directly over my heart several times a day as of lately. It started off one a day or so every week. These days it is several times per day, everyday. No other symptoms of heart trouble/attack. I have an appointment next Wednesday with my doctor, but in the meantime I am a bit concerned. Does this sound like the start of heart trouble?

Absolutely agree. I don't know why your doctor wouldn't tell you to go directly to the ER.

Let me tell you a little story. My Dad was having pains in his chest that he thought were related to indigestion. They persisted. He called the doc. The doc (a cardiologist mind you), told him to see how he was in the morning. My Mom called a friend who had recommended another cardiologist to her. We called the new cardio. He told my Dad to meet him at the ER right away. It was too late. My Dad had already suffered a heart attack and had heart muscle damage. With the new clot-busting drugs they have these days, this could have been avoided.
