Back in March this year I had an angioplasty with stent - afterwards felt really great and had no pain for about 3 weeks. Then pain in left arm on exertion which became progressively worse over the next few months. Finally I couldn't walk for more than 50 yards before pains began.
Three weeks ago had another angioplasty and stent procedure - one of the bypass grafts I had in
1994 had closed up, but the March Stent was still clear. Felt really good afterwards and had no pain travelling home etc, and general walking around.
Now, I am again getting the left arm pain on exertion - but not always. Last week climbing up a steep river bank I became breathless, but no pain, but so did my fairly fit companion.
Yesterday, walking from the bedroom to the bathroom resulted in arm pain and very 'tight' chest.
Today walking briskly for 30 metres resulted in pain, needed a dose of Nitrolingual to clear.
Tonight while typing I can feel an ache in my left arm.
So, as I will not be able to see the cardiologist for a while (1000km trip) I am wondering if this is normal - or am I on a downward slide again.
Went to my GP but he didn't wish to comment as he didn't know why the pain was re-occuring.
Advise and opinions welcomed
