My brother's doctor moved him from 5mg Altace to 10mg Lisinopril. It took him a few weeks to become acclimated to the change, and now he feels fine and seems to have no minor muscle ache side effects that Altace caused.
There has been much written about the good of Altace. Is there any similar findings about Lisinopril?

"The effects of Prinivil in hypertension and heart failure appear to result primarily from suppression of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system.
Inhibition of ACE results in decreased plasma angiotensin II, which leads to decreased vasopressor activity and to decreased aldosterone secretion."

My sister had high BP and went thru numerous blood pressure meds. She got bad reactions from Lisinopril: feet swelling, really dry mouth, dizzy. She finally ended up with ACEON. And, a year before she died, her BP got too low. She quit taking any BP at all, then.

All of them have side-effects. The longer you can avoid that crap, the better.
Let us know how things are working with you and your med's. I read most every article and I learn from other folks, as most I can.
