I had a minor stroke last November, affecting my dominant left hand side of my body. I am recovering reasonably well and have returned to work part time (30 hours a week. I'm on the usual cocktail of
Clopidogrel, statin and bendrofluazide and b.p. is about normal and cholesterol level low. However, every few days I wake up feeling really lousy with a thick, muzzy head (worse than usual that is!). It makes me feel dizzy and sick and it takes up to 24 hours to wear off.
No-one can tell me if this is overwork, over-walking at week-ends, too much input in general or all of these things and the side effects of the drugs. Has anyone out there got any similar problems to mine? My control mechanism has apparently been damaged by the stroke, which means my co-ordinatin is now much poor and also my perception of myself in a 3d environment is affected (at least this is what I understand from the medics.).

After heart surgery last Nov I was found to have had a minor stroke.
My right hand did not work. Head scan was done and confirmed two areas of the brain that had been affected. The symptoms wore off after a week or so. But, at the moment, I am concerned that after being up and about for three hours or so I suddenly feel extremely tired, almost as if someone has slipped me some kind of drug. Have also noticed my balance is not normal. My local GP says I am expecting too much too soon but I am sure this is not right. Just had a pacemaker fitted and when I mentioned it at the hospital the doc there said no doctor can explain the 'tired all the time' problem. Like you, I have suspected that the drugs cocktail might have something to do with it. What do they mean by the perception of yourself in a 3rd environment?
Hope we both get answers to these problems. Diana
