Hi I tried the test today, and the results come out different if you change the activity level setting, even with the SAME weight and measurements put in!! Why?? How can this be? BF is BF surely?

Thanks in advance

Prediction is a purely statistical matter. If including a variable increases the predictative accuracy of the predictive equation, it is sensible to include it.

I don't don't if that explains the referenced test. But look at it this way. It is of course possible for two individuals to have the same measurements per a formula for predicting body composition. For one thing, a given individual might happen to store more or less fat in the unmeasured area. For another, some may store more or less fat in the muscles as compared to subcutaneously. If activity level significantly predicts which of two individuals with the same measurements has lower or higher body composition, then it is useful to include it as a separate factor, even though it substantially overlaps the measurements already taken.

Beats the shit out of me! What the hell do you want for nothing?!

There isn't *ANY* foolproof, 100% accurate BF measuring tool. The best you can do is use it to track improvements so just use the same activity level all the time.

Thanks for my Laugh of the Day! I'll remember this comment next time the topic of BF measurement comes up (like last night at the gym).
