Is ST depressions on ECG an early sign of heart disease?
It is on 6 of the 12 leads, and although the echo came back clean and the cardiologist said I am fine, the ECG is worrying me. What do you think?

I don't think anyone here is up to reading an EKG for you let alone reading one by description alone.

You have 2 choices ...

1) Trust in your cardiologist
2) Get a second opinion

Every thing I've read about ST anomalies would not point to early heart disease ... They tend to be associated with people WITH heart disease, but there are several non-heart disease related causes for them ... such as an electrolyte imbalance at the time of the test. Do you drink sports drinks? Do you take lots of salt? These can upset EKG.

If your cardiologist has gone to look at your heart beating with an Echocardiogram, for example to supplement the ECG, you can probably be quite content that he's correct. He would probably have SEEN evidence of prior heart attack (which can result in ST irregularities).

But if that won't satisfy your worry, then get a second opinion.
