I have just entered the "wonderful world" of people with heart diseases, and was wondering if, for any of you , there were positive side effects to this discovery? (Looking for the light here. hope this is not an inappropriate question.)

Well, you'll undoubtedly become more conscious of the signals your body is giving you ... which is often good. You probably will no longer put off getting symptoms dealt with!

My diet has improved (and it was by no means *bad* before I had surgery) and fitness level has definitely increased.

Then there's the real good side, for me, I'm no longer sitting on a time bomb waiting to kill me!
