I have been having palpitations and irregular heart beat for a couple of months, and this was confirmed with a halter test. I am on metoprolol, but I still have them, mostly lying down at night. The cardiologist thinks this is panic attacks, as she didn't see anything on the EKG. Is it possible or MVP not to show up on an EKG?

MVP is not a problem with the electrical firing of the muscles, therefore doesn't show on an ECG. It is clearly discernable though when listening to the heart.

The halter test is a simple ECG.

Where did you get the idea the palpitations and arrhythmia was due to MVP?
