I am one week after a heart attack, and was already on 40mg of simvastatin +5mg amlodipine for hypertension.
I am now getting an extra 4mg perindopril Tert butylamine. I am kind of dizzy and light headed. Is this normal ?

As ever, talk with your doctor. It's not an uncommon problem when taking anti hypertensive drugs ... (blood pressure lowering drugs) ... One thing that can happen is that they can bring your bp down a little too much which means you aren't getting quite as much blood to your brain as it would like ... this results in dizziness and lightheadedness. Particularly after getting up from sitting or lying down. Get up slowly.

Simvastatin is a cholesterol lowering medication to help lower the cholesterol in your blood ... trying to stop the build up of plaques in your coronary arteries.

Amlodopine is a calcium channel blocker that causes the arteries to relax a bit so they don't resist blood flow so much .. lowering your blood pressure.

Perindopril is an ACE inhibitor (Angiotensin Converting Enzyme) ... which reduces the production of Angiotensin which causes the arteries to constrict to help control the flow of blood.

Other conditions cause the generation of these compounds that cause the arteries to constrict, which on top of cholesterol damage to the coronary arteries and you end up with heart attacks and thickening of the heart muscle with time. These drugs help this situation.

This pair of drugs (amlodopine and perindopril) are most commonly prescribed together, especially in Europe and Britain. Other parts of the world use different combinations to do the same kind of thing.
