I need to take a cholesterol test for a life insurance medical.

Aside from not eating rich foods or drinking alcohol, in the days before the test what are some other steps (if any) one could take assure the lowest possible reading of "bad" cholesterol?

I haven't heard this before - does C have a direct positive effect on cholesterol numbers?

Sure it's simple. Look at all those happy, healthy POW's who've simply thrived on this much food. See the robust physiques. Notice the sprightly look in their eyes. See the cheer and radiant color in their cheeks. Ahhhh, Dachau in the morning... And we can't forget the
Devil's Island Buffet; wonderful selection of side dishes, especially the desserts. Lizards and slugs...

Try eating 60% of your normal maintenance level calories, eat no meat, no sugar, no bread, no potatoes, and walk 5 hours a day. Lose some weight and reduce your cholesterol numbers. Result is almost guaranteed if you have a week or so.

Why don't you just eat smaller portions? The main reason people are overweight is because they eat large portions at mealtime. Simply cut out all refined carbohydrates, eat meals that leave room for more, snack on fruit or low-fat yogurt, and, exercise - and you will be eating healthier while losing weight and it won't cost you anything; in fact, you will save money!
