I'm a 30 year old guy in the UK and am looking to lose a bit weight before
Christmas, that's all. I've heard that there are (herbal?) appetite suppressants available which also act as mood elevators. Trouble is, I'm totally new to all this so I don't even know where to start looking. I hear talk of Adios and the like, but what's the most effective/accessible/affordable pills you can take for what I'm looking for?

Over to you guys!

Hi David, just how much do you need to lose? Why do you need it by
Christmas? Having a vacation? If it is a small amount, you can do whatever you want, but if it is a lot (15+ kg), you need to take it a little more seriously.

I know of one appetite suppressant that also worked as a mood elevator for me. It was not chemical but it worked. I stopped eating sugar and junkfood completely and started walking 100 minutes per day. In a couple of weeks the energy level and my mood were improved dramatically and my appetite was much more controllable. Sugar has a known bad effect on appetite.

As for herbal suppressors, I have heard of a few, but there does not seem to be much evidence that they work in humans.

Stop looking. Start exercising, especially walking or other aerobics. Also make sure you're getting plenty of fiber in your diet, and if you're eating lots of sweets, substitute fruit.
