Has anyone recently seen the informercial with the young Spanish guy that uses dancing fitness...is it called Zambu? It's an aerobic type of dancing.

What's the name of it?

Any ideas?

I have seen it on TV. Its called Zumba. I have never tried it but here is my guess:

1) If it is fun for you (ie you will regularly do it) and gets your heart rate up for a sustained period of time, go for it!

2) Don't use it as an end all workout routine. You will get bored with it if you do the same routine every day. I take in some sort of traditional aerobics class about every other week to keep things different.. It comes down to jumping around and moving your arms and legs around quickly whether you are doing Jazz, Zumba or the Macerena.

3) Be sure to do some more intense cardio at least once a week. My fav is the Eliptical. And I don't mean Tony Little crappy eliptical. I mean if you join a gym and have access to a good quality one. I burn 400 calories in 30 mins of eliptical. I also do Spinning which I absolutely love, and it also kicks my a$$ every time I do it. It is an amazing workout.

But anywas as far as working out from home, like I said, as long as you get your heart rate up and you do it on a consistent basis, you can do the hokey pokey for all I care
