I have seen many "walkers" who look chubby regardless of the amount of
"walking" they seem to be doing on a daily basis. Considering that I have never tried to incorporate "walking" as a form of exericse I can't comment on whether walking will enable a person to lose an adaquate amount of weight.

However there seems to be a good number of people who look a bit chubby regardless of the amount of "walking" they seem to be doing.
They neither seem to be gaining/losing weight.

I have written more stuff under the title "EAT:" please feel free to click on my name "shinino"

Sounds pretty difficult, sorry to hear about it. Anyay, hang around here, maybe one day you will find strength to do something else. Maybe atkins is really not for you. I never had that high opinion about that diet. There are other weight loss programs available as well out there. Some people just lose weight without being a part of any formal diet. But any diet involves doing stuff that you maybe do not want to do and not eating all food that you would like to eat.

I was just curious..

Anecdotal evidence is not the best evidence. Walking is an effective form of exercise and heavier people get more benefits from it than lighter ones, according to clinical studies.

You need to do both. If you walk everyday and burn 200 calories a day, but eat 200 extra calories a day- then you'll stay the same.

perhaps these people do not want to lose weight or gain! However it keeps them in good health so as there is a good circulation of blood intheir body! If you want to lose weight by just walking then it would not work because the fats are not being burn! to lose weight we must do some hard exercise to burn the fat and also perspire a lot!
