Do I have a heart disorder? My dad, who is 44 has had some issues with his heart. I am 19, and pretty fit, but have constant pain on the left side of my chest. somedays its pretty acute. If I watch scary movies, it gets so bad that I have stopped doing that. Does this sound more like an anxiety attack or heart problems?

Doesn't sound at all like a cardiac problem. Sounds more like it would be a posture problem resulting in tension on the chest wall that's aggravated by frightening scenarios.

Oh good! I guess having a young father with heart issues makes you suspicious even without reason.

Heck, I'm 58, and my kids are worried I might have passed these things on to them in their genes! It's easy to worry.

While I said it doesn't sound like a heart problem, you probably should get it checked out on a trip to the doctor.

I might do that. That way I can get an official bill of health and be in a worry free zone for a while. Thanks Stuart
