There is always some muscle loss with fat loss. (There are a few exceptions, not important here.) However, the body fat numbers are not that accurate enough to do the precise calculations that you do. The right conlusion is that you've lost some fat and some lean.

I'm not a big fan of circuit training.

The cardio I like is interval training. But agian 20 min vs. 30 minutes seems like you're trying to be too precise.
