Ready for the New Year's Resolution People? Let's start a thread for them.

First off, read http://www.stumptuous.com/weights.html - it's the closest thing we've got to a FAQ here. Her section on eating is worth reading two or three times.

know how to do it - without surgery, without gimmicks, by making the lifestyle changes that are inevitably required. Stick around and listen for a while, ask questions, but in the meantime:

1. start drinking lots and lots of water. Drink a full glass right now.

2. start logging your food - not diet food, but what you REALLY eat - at http://www.fitday.com
