In both cases it sounds like something else induced the headache and it was made worse by the nitro patch.
Seems like the answer is to find the cause of the headache and deal with that and when the headache clears resume the nitro patch.
Talk with your doctor about the best way to proceed in these circumstances. It may be time to review your cardiac situation.
