Good {Feel-good-000200BB}

So, is it safe to say that after this period of time the addiction has no grip on someone anymore?

Hi Saskia,

Well if you give addiction a single chance to re enter into your life.....then it will definitely takes the advantage of it.... Like want to try it once at parties..... Staying away from the smokers is going to help everyone a lot....

Sort of both, Marvin

Did you find your physical condition to be better since you've stopped smoking? And, if so, when is the first time you notice it? Like: after a week of not smoking you found you condition (walking up the stairs, running or something like that) - improved? Or did it take longer?

Hello Saskia,

Sorry for the late reply, got an accident and have a broken shoulder, I am ok now.

Well my health is pretty good because of quit smoking, there was some problems in initial stage but right after 15 to 20 days I was normal. I do exercise regularly to keep my body under my control.

Oh yeah very good points, it's completely different when I use stairs and run. no heavy breathing and I don't stop to get my breath when I use stairs.

Great to hear stop smoking has done you good, Marvin. Also, sorry about your accident. Hopefully everything is OK now?

Let me speak my mind as honest as I can be:

I have several friends who quit smoking after years and years and years of doing so.

in ALL of them some disease has developed after they quit. Most of them having heart diseases right now, and two even got a heart attack....

this is AFTER they quit smoking.

That's why, for me, to stop indicates more over getting prone to all kind of diseases. I wonder why there aren't any statistics about this phenomenon. I wonder because this happened to ALL of the people I know that stopped smoking.

This is just a lurch tho - because of my direct environment and not having any general data. . .

Hello Saskia,

Well thank you...I am ok now.

Well you are not wrong about getting diseases or problems after quit smoking, actually I didn't want to keep counting on how many months I have been quitting..but its almost 14 months... Well I got little extra weight but working on that and if I wont work on this extra fat then other health problems will gonna show up. Am I wrong?

I'm happy you're feeling good, Marvin.

Yes, weight problems seem to lead to all kinds of other problems. That's why it's good to stay active. However, don't overdo and get your condition up gradually. That's the most secure and safe way to getting rid of extra kilos.

Adding some info on smoking and depression..

Medical literature strongly suggests that there is an association between cigarette smoking and both alcoholism and major depression. But, although smokers regularly report that nicotine diminishes anxiety, it has been difficult to prove this anti-anxiety effect of nicotine experimentally.

Studies using laboratory animals fail to show a strong anti-anxiety effect for nicotine. However, nicotine dependence in these animals increases when they are under stress.
